Teachers Bio:



Mrs. Diana Carey joined the HCCS staff in 2008 as the 4th grade teacher. Mrs. Carey did her student teaching in the 4th grade before she graduated from Wilmington College, Magna Cum Laude. Then she was a long - term substitute teacher for Mr. Wisecup at the Washington Elementary School for a year.  Next she was hired as a 7th grade teacher for the Hillsboro Middle School, where she spent 24 years teaching middle school curriculum.  Mrs. Carey brings much teaching experience with her from her 25 years in the public school system. She and her husband, Donnie, have 3 daughters and 2 grandchildren.  After her retirement, she helped in the Wee Care pre-school program. Diane was anxious to get back to teaching elementary-aged students. Mrs. Carey is a great asset to the teaching staff at HCCS.

What a wonderful school year!  I have enjoyed my class so much.  They are a great group of children.  Thank you to all that helped this year during our field trips and parties.  I could not have plan these extra things without your help. I am sad to be leaving the old Webster building, but I am looking forward to teaching in another place.  Hopefully, I will be back in the fall and see many familiar faces. Enjoy your summer and I wish for the best wherever the education road takes you.
